Golden Arrow Announces Positive Pre-Feasibility Study for the Chinchillas Project Joint Venture With Silver Standard

Golden Arrow Resources Corporation (TSX VENTURE:GRG) (GAC.F) (GARWF) (WKN:A0B6XQ) ("Golden Arrow" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the results of a pre-feasibility study of the Chinchillas project ("Chinchillas" or the "project") located in the Jujuy Province, Argentina for the joint-venture development of the project with Silver Standard Resources Inc. (SSRI) (SSO.TO) ("Silver Standard") pursuant to the Business Combination Agreement between the parties dated September 30, 2015, as outlined in the Company's news release dated March 31, 2017.

Silver Standard Exercises Option to Form Joint Venture With Golden Arrow for the Chinchillas-Pirquitas Project

"This is a landmark achievement for our Company," stated Joseph Grosso, Executive Chairman, President and CEO of Golden Arrow. "As Golden Arrow transitions an exploration discovery into a mining operation, our shareholders stand to benefit from this profile and strengthened financial position."

Market Report: Dollar under attack

As it was, gold traded in a narrow range all week, between $1245 and $1255, before dipping slightly yesterday in late trade to $1242. Silver meanwhile outperformed gold. In early European trading this morning (Friday) gold was at $1242 and silver at $18.09. The April futures gold contract is running off the board, and one would expect the bullion banks to shake out the speculators with long positions. Most have rolled over into the June contract, but remarkably, some did not, choosing to close positions, with no damage to the price. As a result, open interest has decreased significantly, which is evident in the next chart.

Precious Metals Are in Alignment for a Major Ascent

Writing a missive such as this one has been a labor of love for me since the mid-1980s when I began to observe how stock market investors behaved at or near major inflection points—meaning "tops" and "bottoms." It all began in London, Ontario, in the summer of 1982 when I was in attendance at the annual London Chamber of Commerce Annual Canada Day barbecue where business types of all persuasions came together to "try to hustle up some new business," a 1980's version of the 2017 term "networking."

March 29: Gold and Silver Gain While Stocks Chop

Gold saw slight losses in Asia, but it then chopped up to as high as $1254.60 in early afternoon New York trade and ended with a gain of 0.21%. Silver rose to as high as $18.232 and ended with a gain of 0.5%.

March Comex Silver "Deliveries"

Given my past experience in dealing with the CFTC, in no way do I expect any aggressive action from this neutered and fully-controlled agency. Instead, I just thought it would be fun to see if I heard anything back from them at all. Will I even get a response? I can tell you that, so far, I haven't even received one of those "thank you for writing us, we'll look into it" emails so it's not looking good. However, if I do eventually hear from them, I'll be sure to write follow-up to this post.

March 28: Gold and Silver End Mixed While Stocks Bounce Back

Gold fell $4.10 to $1251.20 in Asia before it bounced back to $1258.20 in midmorning New York trade, but it then fell to a new session low of $1247.70 in afternoon trade and ended with a loss of 0.39%. Silver rose to as high as $18.233 before it also fell back off, but it still ended with a gain of 0.17%.

Silver Market Morning: Mar 28 2017 - Gold holding high ground and likely to rise!

For gold, before London opened on Monday Shanghai had already reacted through the western night. It was at $1,257 when we first looked during Shanghai’s day on Monday and is currently holding that level now. If it holds above $1,250 it will have broken through overhead resistance, which will become support, which appears to be happening now.

March 27: Gold Gains and Silver Rises 2%

Gold gained $13.10 to $1261.00 in midmorning New York trade before it chopped back to $1252.80 in the next couple of hours, but it then bounced back higher in afternoon trade and ended with a gain of 0.59%. Silver surged to as high as $18.126 and ended with a gain of 2.03%.

March 24: Gold and Silver Gain Roughly 2% on the Week

Gold fell $5.20 to $1241.00 in Asia, but it then chopped back higher for most of the rest of trade and ended near its late session high of $1251.80 with a gain of 0.14%. Silver rose to as high as $17.776 and ended with a gain of 0.91%.

Silver Market Morning: Mar 24 2017 - Gold facing a critical day!

The Healthcare Bill is not just about healthcare or about Donald Trump but about the ability of the Republican majority to turn what has been political gridlock for the last two terms into decisive government. If the bill fails to pass today, it implies that despite the hype about President Trump’s ‘get things done’ ability, the government remains in political gridlock, with the majority disunited. That implies a lower dollar, lower equities [where the rise since his election accounts for 14% of the rise in the Dow] and higher gold.

March 23: Gold and Silver End Mixed Before Health Care Vote

Gold gained $5.30 to $1253.10 at about 9AM EST before it fell back to $1242.90 in early afternoon trade and then bounced back higher at times, but it still ended with a loss of 0.13%. Silver rose to as high as $17.68 before it also chopped back lower, but it still ended with a gain of 0.29%.

Silver Market Morning: Mar 23 2017 - Gold making new gains!

You will note how Shanghai prices have been steady after jumping with London and New York’s ‘discounts’ narrowing a great deal. We attribute this to arbitrageurs or western dealers making sure their prices are not out of line. Why do we stress this? It shows the lessening impact of western news items and COMEX actions. It ensures that gold prices are more currency related. We believe it is already reducing the volatility in global gold markets.

March 22: Gold and Silver Gain Again

Gold gained $4.40 to $1249.00 in Asia before it fell back to unchanged at $1244.60 in London, but it then jumped to as high as $1251.30 in New York and ended with a gain of 0.26%. Silver rose to as high as $17.586 and ended with a gain of 0.06%.

Silver Market Morning: Mar 22 2017 - Gold holding new gains!

The gold price in Shanghai jumped 2.50 Yuan today, but the rise was greater when translated into the weak dollar. As you can see, London and New York are trying to catch up with Shanghai as the price differentials narrow. That’s why the concept of a ‘Chinese gold price premium’ distorts the reality of what’s happening. China is no longer a distant sub-market of London, while India continues to be so, as that country with its gold taxes and political interference cannot function nearly as well as Shanghai with its highly developed, huge, physical market.

March 21: Gold and Silver Gain While Stocks Drop Over 1%

Gold fell $7.80 to $1226.80 in Asia, but it then jumped to as high as $1247.60 in New York and ended with a gain of 0.81%. Silver surged to as high as $17.592 and ended with a gain of 0.57%.

Silver Market Morning: Mar 21 2017 - Gold still consolidating at higher levels!

Turning back to the G-20 statement we note that the G-20 maintained its call for competitive devaluations and FX market instability to be avoided. While it goes against brazen devaluations for the sake of gaining competitive advantage, protectionism will alter trade balances, which will affect exchange rates. Behind such international plays, nations do attempt to keep their exchange rates low and lower. So while brazen currency wars are to be avoided, they will continue indirectly.

March 20: Gold and Silver Gain With Bonds

Gold gained $6.60 to $1235.40 in Asia before it pared down to $1230.30 in London, but it then rallied back higher in New York and ended with a gain of 0.47%. Silver rose to as high as $17.457 and ended with a gain of 0.23%.

Silver Market Morning: Mar 20 2017 - Gold consolidating at higher levels!

The price differential between the three centers is widening again as China once again is leading the way on gold prices. But you will note that Chinese gold prices have barely changed in the last two days leading to the conclusion that Shanghai is making the gold price but exchange rate changes are changing prices in other currencies. The dollar continues to weaken taking gold prices higher there.

March 17: Gold and Silver Gain 2% on the Week

Gold chopped up to $1231.50 at about 10AM EST before it drifted back lower at times, but it still ended with a gain of 0.2%. Silver rose to as high as $17.412 and ended with a gain of 0.35%.

Silver’s slight loss in performance is shown in the gold/silver ratio, which is our next chart.

Silver Market Morning

After Mario Draghi’s confirming that he wants to see a weaker euro, the market has obliged by pulling it back from its recent peak just under $1.40: €1 to $1.38: €1. If gold is moved in the same way as gold, we come to $1,307. This is where the gold price is now. We did not see selling of gold to press the gold price down, but dealer’s adjustment of prices in line with the dollar’s strength. Like the waves on the seashore the gold price fell but we believe this will bring in Asian buyers allowing the gold price to move higher after the current consolidation is complete.

May Decline in Gold and Silver Stocks Would Create Opportunity

Last week we noted that the gold and silver shares had formed a short-term rebound in response to an oversold condition. Yet we felt that the downtrend that originated from the hard reversal in March was still in effect. As we go to publish, the rebound appears to be petering out. Be aware that there is more potential downside in May. The good news is a decline in May will likely create a great buying opportunity at the end of the month and in June.

Silver Update

Here are a few patterns that might explain the current state of the silver price, as well as, provide the possible way forward. Below is a graphic which compares the current pattern on silver (from about the beginning of 2011 to present) to a 2007 pattern:

Dramatic Turnaround For Silver?

On the chart, I have indicated two similar patterns (marked 1 to 5).This comparison suggests that silver could rise significantly over the next couple of months. This would mean that a dramatic turnaround in the price of silver is coming (it might have started already).

Silver Market Update

The patterns forming in gold and silver are remarkably similar, and much of what has been written in the parallel Gold Market update applies equally to silver, so it will not be repeated here. The big question is "has silver finally bottomed?" - that is the question that we are going to attempt to answer in this update.

May 22: Gold and Silver End Over 1% Lower

Julian Phillips: Silver Price Falls with Euro; in hands of traders

Comment Wire: The fall in the silver price to current levels of $27.34 reflects the fall in the euro and not that rise of the dollar. Both gold and silver have for so long been treated as "counters to the dollar" to quote the Bundesbank's ex-President Herr Weber. But this does not mean, after market volatility says differently, that silver should move with the euro.

Ranting Andy on Silver

June 1, 2012 will be remembered as a watershed day. “Cartel Rule #1” was already broken on Wednesday – i.e., “thou shalt not let PMs rise when the Dow plunges,” and nearly was yesterday as well, until they viciously ATTACKED PMs and GOOSED the “Dow Jones Propaganda Average” at midday. But today – with European markets already in freefall, the BLS published its third straight catastrophic NFP employment report.

This Ain't The Bottom (But you can see it from here)

Wallace, Idaho – Bernard Baruch famously said: “Don't try to buy at the bottom and sell at the top. It can't be done except by liars.” Good advice. So many ersatz experts are calling this the bottom for silver and gold that it absolutely cannot be the actual bottom. It may be so close that we can see it, but we're willing to ride this elevator down a few more floors before we hit that big red STOP button.

The Premier Safe Haven

Precious Metals are yet again asserting themselves following MULTIPLE attempts to push them down – first at the usual 12:00 PM EST with most markets flat, then late in the afternoon when the “DOW JONES PROPAGANDA AVERAGE” started plunging. TPTB are horrified that their pathetic “Spanish Bailout” ploy failed, with stock and markets plunging worldwide – notwithstanding yesterday’s blatant prop job. If gold remains positive by day’s close – and the Dow stays down – this will be the fourth such time in two weeks – SHOUTING to the world that gold is, indeed, the premier safe haven asset. Vintage Gold Cartel

This week has been vintage Gold Cartel/JP Morgan in action. The gold/price action has been counterintuitive until today. Meanwhile, the silver open interest is near at its recent highs, as JPM has stopped all silver rallies whenever the price reached $29 per ounce. Take a look at the silver chart of late. Now they have made their move along with the rest of The Gold Cartel. Spec precious metals longs are terrified and many forced to exit their positions.

Silver coins hot up in India as gold sales weaken

With gold prices too hot for many in India, silver has regained its sheen. Sales of silver coins are soaring in India, with most consumers buying silver coins which herald good luck and prosperity. Gold, on the other hand, has hit several highs in the last couple of days, deterring buyers from the precious metal. Delayed monsoons in India have all but grounded sale of gold too. In rural India, sales of the yellow metal are closely linked to monsoon, since good rains that bring on a rich harvest will boost gold purchases by farmers.

Perfect Storm Brewing

The markets are in turmoil for the same cadre of horrible trends as usual, starting with Spanish bond yield surging above 7%, uncertainty about the toothless European Summit, PLUNGING British bank stocks on the heels of “LIEBOR” fraud (Barclays, down 17% today alone) and unattainable ATM funds (RBS, down 13%).
